Forgotten
This is the game where you as an adult, recall some memories through things from your childhood, and finally understand your mother's words.
How to play:
Use WASD or arrow keys to move and interact.
Space key can also use to click on dialogs.
Gam Jam theme: Texture
When I think about texture, I immediately associate it with "things", not only because every single thing has its own texture, but because it also contains its own memory.
In this Jam, I tried to have unique sound effects and music for each "things" and environment, and having animations to show their physical movement (if they do move). I also tried to show visual texture for some of the environments.
I gained more understanding on Bogost's words (2011) aftering finishing this game. I realized how much texture can do in a game. It makes the game more vivid and concrete, which could give players a different experience than having no sound, no music, and no expression of the physical feeling.

Not bad, the story was definitely a meaningful one. In terms of fun, it needs a bit more work. Would have been cool to have like a "imagination" sequence from listening to music, and a "gaming" sequence from playing the game. There are creative ways to achieve that in Bitsy. Game is generally well functioning though some items that are physical you end up overlapping, and some that you would overlap end up blocking you. Also there's a level that is missing animations and audio, it feels like there should be? Creativity wise, I like the use of memories or rooms. But I feel like more could have been done with animations and colors and sounds. I do really like what you have done with the sound effects and music. I especially like how you emulated a ringing phone. Thematically, it gets close. The story itself doesn't quite sell me on the idea of texture, though it tells an important lesson. The game itself does tackle ideas of texture, though could have gone deeper in terms of analysis and its implementation in the game. Otherwise, I think this was good.

I thought that the theme of this game was relatable to me. The way that things change as you get older, and it was an interesting take on the "texture" theme. I thought that the gameplay was pretty basic though. You basically just walk to the next object with no other options.

I really like the emotional touch the game has as well as how the colors try to describe the scene. I had fun playing this game and had a clear idea how the game works and what to expect when you interact with something.

I really enjoyed paying this game. It's so aesthetically appealing, which makes it so much more enjoyable. And the play with different sounds and music made it even more satisfactory.

You did a pretty good job with this game. I can definitely pick up on the theme of texture, so I feel that you executed that quite well. The colour palettes used are really nice and give the game a calming aesthetic. I would not necessarily describe it as a very "fun" game, and the functionality is pretty bland, since you only interact with an item once to get a dialogue response. I feel like you could have done quite a bit deeper, but otherwise well done.

The game has a good moral message about following your dreams, which I liked. I also noticed that the phone rang and the colour of the game changed to fit the mood, which is good texture like the readings. If I had to change anything, it would be to try and make it feel more gamey. Otherwise, a solid experience.

I really liked this short game. Aside from exploring the theme of textures through the story, how this game plays with different sounds as well as different environments was really pleasant. I liked the sleek animations as well as the transitions and art in the levels.
